We sell and install the industry’s leading brands of standard storage and tankless water heaters.
Depending on your water heating needs, we can help you choose a customized water heating system that will benefit your lifestyle and budget the most. Water heaters are responsible for a big part of your home’s energy consumption. As energy costs continue to soar, Wilson Mechanical can help you select the right solution for your home.
Standard Storage Water Heaters
Standard storage water heaters store and heat water in a reservoir. As water is used the tank is refilled and a set temperature is maintained to deliver hot water whenever it may be needed. When selecting a standard storage water heater, Wilson’s qualified experts can help you choose a unit with the right capacity and energy efficiency necessary to meet your needs.
Selecting a New Water Heater
There are numerous factors to consider when choosing a new water heater, including type, capacity, efficiency, and cost.
Type. While storage water heaters are most common, there are a number of other types of water heaters including tankless water heaters that may suit your needs.
Storage Water Heaters
Feature FVIR design that protects against accidental ignition of flammable vapors like those from gasoline
Green Choice gas burner produces 33% lower NOx emissions than standard burners
Self-cleaning PEXAN™ dip tube helps prevent lime and sediment buildup
Tamper-resistant brass drain valve
Piezo igniter for easy ‘one hand’ pilot ignition
Capacity. Sizing of hot water heaters should be based on the number of occupants and their peak hour water demand and not on the size of the house. The peak hour demand or first-hour rating (FHR) is the measure of how much hot water the heater will deliver in an hour and is required by law to appear on the Energy Guide Label. Don’t buy a water heater bigger than you need, or you’ll be paying to heat water you don’t use!
Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless units heat water on demand, only when you need it. The tankless technology offers endless hot water – you’ll never take a cold shower again! Because the water is only heated when it is being used, tankless water heaters are a great energy efficient solution for heating the water in your home. You’ll enjoy energy savings, better performance, extended life, fresh water, space savings and more capacity than traditional “tanked” water heaters.
Enjoy endless hot water and save up to 50% on utility bills
How does it work?
When your hot water faucet is turned on and the water begins to flow, a sophisticated flow sensor detects that hot water is being demanded and turns the water heater on. Instantaneously a series of sensors gather information about the flow rate of the water and the incoming water temperature. This information is sent to a microprocessor, which calculates the amount of gas needed to heat the water to the temperature set point. This whole process only takes a couple of seconds! What does this mean to you?
Hot Water on Demand Within seconds of turning on your hot water tap you will have endless hot water. Tankless water heaters, also called instantaneous or Demand water heaters, only provide water as needed. As soon as you turn off your hot water faucet, the flow sensor detects that water has stopped flowing and the unit is completely shut off. No more cold showers! As long as your hot water tap is turned on you will have hot water. Only when you shut off the tap will it turn off. Unlike a traditional water tank, you won’t need to wait for a storage tank to fill up with enough hot water to have a hot shower.
Lower Water Heating Costs
You can save up to 50% on water heating costs with a Tankless water heater. When you heat water directly without the use of a storage tank you avoid the heat recovery and standby losses associated with a storage water heater. Just like you don’t pay to cool your home when you’re on vacation, you also don’t want to pay to heat your water when you’re not using it. With a Tankless water heater you only heat the water that you want to use, not the water waiting to be used in a tank.
Endless Hot Water. Without the Tank. Without the Cost.
